How to Stay Warm this Camping Season- Coleman Heaters and other Solutions

If you are planning on doing some outdoor trekking up north this camping season, then you really never know what to expect. Even during the summer months, the weather and climate are so unpredictable that you may find yourself freezing in your sleeping bag, wishing you opted for that pair of long underwear.

Below are three options when it comes to staying warm this camping season.

1. Building a Fire

This is the obvious thing to do. A warm fire will not only keep your feet toasty during those chilly nights, but it can also provide a cooking element as well as hours of campfire entertaining. Camp fires can set the mood for romance but can also provide a great background for ghost stories, sing a longs and marshmallow roasts. Building a fire is your number one choice when it comes to staying warm. However, some National parks do not allow campfires, especially during the dry fire season where a campfire has the potential to explode into a bush fire in no time. If this is the case, then you will need to look for alternative heating measures.

2. Blankets, blankets and more blankets

For the super keen and uber-prepared camper, you have probably already thought about the cold summer nights and thus have packed an extra blanket for each member of the family. If so, then smart thinking. If not, you can use your sleeping bag as a warm jacket during those cold nights around the camp site.

3. Coleman Heaters

A more practical option for keeping warm this camping season is a Coleman heater. Coleman supplies several different types of portable heaters that can warm up the tent and act as a substitute camp fire when the fire restrictions are in place. Unlike blankets, Coleman heaters do not take up a lot of space in the truck or backpack and can provide heat for up to 16 hours. Coleman heaters work with regular propane fuel and come in a variety of different shapes including the spot light heater. They are portable, practical and promise a warm night on those extra cool evenings.
