Tips on How to Avoid the Cold Camping Air- Coleman Tent Heaters, Flannel and Blankets

Tents have come a long way in recent history. There are tents that are much taller for an easier way to change your clothes; there are tents with several different compartments and areas for the kids and the parents; there are even tents that weigh less than a pound for outdoor overnight hiking treks. Tents provide shelter from the rain and other weather conditions, protection from the wind and from animals, and shade from the hot sun. However, one thing tents still are not able to do is keep your toasty warm on those extra cold evenings.

This is why you have to improvise.

Sure, tents are great for protection and sleeping, but isn’t it annoying waking up in the middle of the night freezing your socks off! Even if you have three pairs on, there is still a good chance that you may wake up freezing cold. Tents are designed for various climates and, while some tents store heat, others lock in the coldness which can be very uncomfortable.

However, there are ways to stay toasty in your tent even in the coldest climates out there.

Did Someone Say Flannel?

A great idea for outdoor trekking adventures is to pack a flannel blanket. They are easy and lightweight to pack and provide insulated heat during the cold nights. Simply place your flannel blanket inside your sleeping bag for extra insulated warmth. These simple trick stores the heat in for the night. Flannel clothing such as fleeces, socks and pants can also keep the heat in.

Bunking Up

Another option is to combine your body heat for warmth at night. This may not be the most ideal situation for friends who are camping, but, for those couples, sharing the same sleeping bag and body heat is a great way to stay warm throughout the night. And who knows what else will heat up beneath the sleeping bag.

Coleman Tent Heaters

If snuggling is not an option, then try a Coleman tent heater which is a portable way to stay warm throughout the night. The Coleman tent heater acts as a spotlight and can provide warmth for up to 16 hours on one mini propane fuel tank.
