Five Things to Always Pack on your Next Camping Trip- Deet Mosquito Repellent and Four Other Must Have Items

Going camping? Don’t leave home without these five essential items.

1. Garbage bags

The golden rule of camping is to clean up after yourself. Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints. In order to do this, you will need to bring along a few garbage bags. Bring more than one just in case something happens. Furthermore, if you experience ran, garbage bags can be wrapped around your camping gear to keep it dry.

2. Deet Mosquito repellent

Deet mosquito repellent is one of the best brand names on the market. Loaded with chemicals that are proven to kill and repel mosquitoes, just be careful not to spray Deet mosquito repellent too close to the face. No matter where you are planning on staying the night, Deet mosquito repellent will make sure you wake up in the morning without a single mosquito bite.

3. Toilet paper (or paper towel)

It can be pretty easy to leave the house without toilet paper. After all, you are probably thinking about all the fun you are going to have camping, and not about what will happen when you need to go. Make a list when you are packing for camping and make sure it includes toilet paper, or, if you enjoy roughing it (no pun intended), paper towel.

4. Salt and pepper

Regardless of what you are planning to eat when you are camping, whether it is canned beans and canned vegetables, noodles, steak, hamburgers or potatoes, you are going to need to season it. Sure, you don’t have to, but why not? Throw in the salt and pepper and add some taste to your camping experience.

5. Extra batteries

When you are camping, you most likely are using battery power for several different items. This could include a CD player, a flashlight or a lantern. Make sure you always pack a spare set of batteries. Keep them in your car just in case. If you use rechargeable batteries for items like your cell phone, Mp3 player and lantern, then bring the car adapter charger with you as well.
