Choosing Amongst Used Inflatable Boats

Why would anyone want to invest in used inflatable boats? Well, the first reason is because used means money saved. Yes, someone has already used the boat, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good boat.

How do you go about choosing amongst used inflatable boats?

  • See if you can get a history on the usage of the boat. Was it used frequently or was it hardly used?
  • Do you prefer to buy from an individual or a dealer? It may be idea to buy from a dealer because they will only accept used products if they are in usable condition or need minimal repair.
  • Are all of the accessories with the boat? You want to make sure that all of the oars, the pump, and any other accessories are with it. If not, you need to see if the seller has made up for that in price.
  • Look at the price and make sure that it is reasonable for you. You can do some research on new inflatable boats and see what their prices are before looking at used inflatable boats. This will help you determine whether or not you are getting a good deal or not.
  • If you are able to physically see the boat, make sure oar locks are intact and not loose in any way. You also want to check stitching and make sure there has not been any patching.
  • If there is a motor that was with it, make sure you get that. It may be possible that the motor is sold separately, especially if it was an option when the boat was initially purchased. If it was an option then, it may just be an option now.

You have to explore every single angle possible when looking at used inflatable boats. That way you don’t find yourself sinking in the middle of the lake. In case you do find yourself sinking, you may want to check in advance regarding any guarantees that come with the boat. There is nothing more frustrating than getting a lemon and having to put more money into the boat to fix it.
