When Battery Operated LED Lights Come in Handy (and when they do not)

One of the best ways to determine if a battery operated LED light is the right choice for your family is by considering what type of situations you will be using it in. Below we have listed four situations where a battery operated LED light is the best choice and one where it is not.

Camping with the kids

Battery operated LED lights are a lot safer than any other lightning system. They have an easy-to-turn dial that allows children to turn the light on and off and also control the amount of light emitted. Furthermore, LED lights do not emit heat which means children will be less likely to burn themselves on an LED light.

Outdoor hiking adventures

If you are planning on bringing a light in your backpack, you want to make sure it is the most durable one out there. This is most certainly the battery operated LED lights. LED lights are reliable and can handle all climates and all terrains. You can shove it into the bottom of your backpack without worrying about breaking the bulb or snapping of a socket.

Tenting

You want a light that you can bring into the tent with you. After all, you need to be able to locate your PJ’s, toothbrush and other night time needs in the dark. A battery operated LED light is safe in the tent as there is no chance it will catch on fire.

In the rain, shine, hail, snow, etc

Battery operated LED lights can keep you bright during all weathers, even through storms. You don’t have to worry about the wind knocking out the flame. An LED light will keep on shining on.

In the cold

This is one of the few times that battery operated LED lights do not come in handy. Unlike the glow of a gas lantern, you will not get any warmth from a battery operated LED light. Instead you will just get a white light. If your campsite does not allow campfires and you have a battery operated LED light as your main resource, then it’s best to pack a few extra coats just in case the night turns a little chilly.
